Team Novo Nordisk, the world’s first all-diabetes professional cycling team, and SRM, the global industry leader in power measurement, announced a new partnership naming SRM as the exclusive power meter supplier to Team Novo Nordisk through 2019.
“Over 30 years ago, SRM redefined bike racing and Uli is a legend in this sport. It gives me great pride to partner with SRM so we can redefine how athletes with diabetes race and train with the condition,” said Team Novo Nordisk CEO and co-founder Phil Southerland. “We are eager to work together with SRM’s remarkable engineering team to integrate diabetes data into the most advanced and accurate on-bike performance data system.”
“We are thrilled to be the official PowerMeter for Team Novo Nordisk. The team’s mission to inspire, educate and empower people affected by diabetes is inspiring, and we believe that working together, we will open new doors in innovation around diabetes technology and cycling,” said SRM Founder Uli Schoberer. “By combining SRM’s consistent, accurate performance data with real-time blood glucose monitoring will bring a higher level of understanding and more precise diabetes management for cyclists at all levels of the sport. Team Novo Nordisk will be a key partner in discovering the next steps in training and racing with diabetes and SRM looks forward to improving the lives and cycling experience for those affected by the condition.”
Team Novo Nordisk’s men’s professional team will kick off the 2018 season racing with SRM’s newest PowerMeter, the SRM Origin.
