Team Novo Nordisk make welcome return to Tour of Estonia
22 May 2024
It has been three years since Team Novo Nordisk last appeared at the Tour of Estonia and the world’s first all diabetes professional cycling team head into the two-day race with fond memories from 2021 and ambitions for the teams’ young riders to show themselves.
The experienced former Hungarian champion Peter Kusztor is the elder statesmen of the team and alongside Australian Declan Irvine and Manxman Sam Brand will look to make that experience count in leading a young squad into the race.
Neo pros Alessandro Perracchione and Doriand Percrule return to racing and second year Belgian pro Quinten De Graeve completes the team.
“We’re very happy to be racing once again at the Tour of Estonia,” said General Manager Vassili Davidenko. “This race provides a great opportunity for us to give our neo pros Alessandro and Doriand, not only a chance to gain more experience, but for them to show their ambition and race on the front foot. We want them to learn, but also to take the chance that they have been given.”
“The squad is nicely balanced for Estonia, youth alongside experience with Peter and Sam both knowing what is expected in their roles and we will be looking to make the most of our two days racing here.”
This year’s Tour of Estonia is the 11th edition of the race and will cover 357.4 kilometers over two days of racing around the capital city of Tallinn and historic university town of Tartu.
