TNN heads east to the Tour of Hainan
23 August 2024
After recent trips to Norway and Denmark, stage racing continues for Team Novo Nordisk in China. The world’s first all-diabetes cycling team will line up in the Tour of Hainan from 27 – 31 August.
“As always it is a great pleasure for us to be returning to race at the Tour of Hainan,” said general manager Vassili Davidenko. “It is one of the most prestigious and longest running professional races in Asia and we have a great history of results and performances here over the years.”
“Our performance partner Santic clothing is also based in China and as we saw last week in Denmark, it’s fantastic for us to be able to collaborate with our key sponsors while at races. The Tour of Hainan is a tough race that we know well and will provide a good opportunity for some of the guys to impress with good performances at this stage of the season.”
“We have David returning after injury and his experience will be important here as he gets back to racing for the final part of the season,” Davidenko said.
In addition to the experience of David Lozano returning, Hamish Beadle will also start and enjoys racing in Asia. The New Zealander is keen to see how he goes after completed Tour of Denmark last week.
“To be back racing in Hainan is a great feeling, these races are a good opportunity for us to show our form. Having done Denmark, I believe I’ll have some good legs for the week. I seem to go pretty well on the parcours there as it is a bit hillier in some stages, so I’m looking forward to a good race,” Beadle said.
