A Challenging Day for Team Novo Nordisk in Stage 2 of Tour of Hellas

03 April 2025

It was a tough day on the road for Team Novo Nordisk in the second stage of the Tour of Hellas, as the riders battled through the demanding climbs from Agrinio to Arachova. With more than 3,000 meters of elevation gain, the 177.5 km stage tested every rider in the peloton, and it was no different for the team.

The stage kicked off with a fast start, and it wasn’t long before the breakaway went clear. The peloton remained in control, but the real race began when the road started to climb. As the riders made their way over the grueling ascents past Kalavrouza, the field started to splinter. Team Novo Nordisk stayed close to their goal of supporting Alessandro Perrachione for the tough final, making sure to keep him in good position heading into the crucial moments.

“The plan from the start was to have the team support Alessandro and keep him in the mix for the finish,” said Sports Manager Daniel Holt. “We knew today would be difficult, but we have some good riders ready for the challenge. Alessandro continues to impress as a versatile all-rounder, and today, he showed that again. It was a tough day, but we worked well as a team.”

With the final climb into Arachova looming, the pace really picked up, and only the strongest riders were left in contention for the top places.
