Joe Martin Race – Stage 4

Development Team General Manager Daniel Holt:

“The last stage was an 8-turn, 2km technical criterium, basically up and down a hill. There was no strategy here other than to try to take a position at the front and defend your position. In the past, it was common for this race to finish with only 20 or so riders.

I had the guys line up early to get a decent position. After that, it was on them to stay there. I advised them to ride the outside line to conserve as much momentum as possible and carry speed into the climb.

All in all we’ve had a positive few days racing here at Joe Martin and I think the most impressive aspect is that each of our young guys have learned a lot. The experience is key to their develop so let’s hope it gets put to good use.”
