Nørup Wins Second Straight Danish National Championship

On January 10, Team Novo Nordisk MTB/CX Thomas Nørup rider earned his second straight Danish Masters National Championship. Below, Thomas recaps his epic win:

“For me, it was the perfect CX course!! There were a lot turns and short, steep climbs, which were made very slippery by sub-zero temperatures the week before, a little rain the day before and temperatures just above freezing on the day of the race.

All season long I had been beaten by my closest competitors. So I knew to have any chance of winning I’d have to play it smart and put some pressure on during the technical parts and see if I could keep it going strong on the more physical parts. And that plan worked perfectly!

After the first lap I had a gap of 10 seconds, and I ended up winning by 22 seconds!”
