Today, we restarted the 2020 season and I was really excited. After so many months and with all the training I did at home, most of it indoors because of lockdown, I was ready to race.
The circuit here is beautiful, but very technical, up and down the whole way. The rain made it really hard, definitely not the best weather conditions.
As a team, we were very active at the beginning to be in the breakaways. Then we stayed all together in the bunch trying to keep a good position until the key moment in the circuit.
At the end, it was all about elimination: with two laps to go, there were several attacks and the pace increased. I stayed in the front with three of my teammates. The last climb was very important and I gave everything there to achieve the best result possible.
It was a really hard day on the saddle, but it was a beautiful race. It’s great to be back and I am very happy with what I achieved today. Now we are all motivated for the Tour of Poland next week!

Today the guys did a great job. The strategy we had for this race was to have some of them active in the breakaways at the beginning.
In the final laps, we had Charles and Andrea in front and we knew we could get some good results. Charles did a very good performance and we’re very satisfied with seventh place.
It’s a great motivation heading into the Tour of Poland.
