Team Novo Nordisk endures a challenging day
09 April 2025
The second stage of Région Pays de la Loire Tour was an uneventful day for Team Novo Nordisk. The race win was taken by the sole survivor of a late attack from three riders.
The racing was very active on the local circuit and Matyas Kopecky tried his hand at getting a move to stick. “Today was hard. I tried to jump once to make a difference in a small break but we got caught really fast. Then I had to recover, which was really hard on this circuit.”
The aforementioned breakaway spoiled the fun for the sprinters and Kopecky was the first rider home from Team Novo Nordisk in 29th. “Somehow I managed to stay in the front group. My seat post dropped so my pedalling was not optimal and I could definitively feel is as we were going full gas in the final. Then in the final kilomter someone rode into my derailleur and my gears started jumping. It was a challenging day,” Kopecky concluded.
Stage three continues tomorrow from Tiercé to Hambers and will be raced over 165.9km.
