Three days in Provence

12 February 2025

Team Novo Nordisk head to France this week looking to continue their strong start to the season at the ninth edition of the Tour de la Provence.

The three-day race starts in historic Marseille and heads straight out into the climbs of the Provencal for two semi-classic style stages before a fast and flat final day of racing ending in Arles.

Team captain Andrea Peron starts his first race of the season providing valuable experience to the fiery young Czech talent Matyas Kopecky fresh from a top ten on stage five in Valenciana last week.

French neo pro Anton Muller makes his senior pro debut in his ‘home race’ as the 26-year-old hails from nearby Montpellier and will line up alongside compatriot Lucas Dauge.

“I’m very excited to be starting my first season as a full professional with Team Novo Nordisk,” said Muller. “Especially so close to home at a race that only last year I was Watching on TV.”

My main goal for this first race is to gain more experience and try to help the team to get a good result by supporting Andrea and Matyas. After looking at the parcours it’s clear that it will be a hard race, but I can’t wait to get started and dive into the deep end.”

Experienced Spanish climber David Lozano joins Italians Alessandro Perracchione and Umberto Poli in completing the line up with all three kicking off their 2025 season in Provence.

“We had a good start to our season in Valenciana last week,” began General Manager Vassili Davidenko. “The guys showed themselves in breakaways and raced aggressively, this is what we want to see to again here in France at the Tour de la Provence.”

“There’s a different line up for the next three days and everyone will get a chance to prove themselves. We’re happy to have our captain Andrea back to provide valuable leadership and support to Matyas in the finals and with Lucas and Anton we have two French riders starting their seasons on home roads.”
