TNN returns to a challenging Tour of Turkey with strong line up
19 April 2024
After a strong block of racing in France, Team Novo Nordisk makes its way to the Presidential Cycling Tour of Türkiye. The race will once again be held over 8 stages and through a variety of flat and mountainous stages into the mix.
The team will be led by an experienced Andrea Peron and Matyas Kopecky who is enjoying another breakout performance this season.
“We’re very excited to be back racing at the Tour of Turkey,” said General Manager Vassili Davidenko. “It’s always a significant moment on the calendar for us and after a positive season so far we are confident of some good performances over the next eight days of racing.”
“It’s important for us to maintain our form and consistency and with our team captain Andrea back alongside Matyas, we have our strongest line up available for the race. Every year the parcours and competition is very challenging, but it’s a challenge we aim to rise to and try to take some opportunities both in the breakaway and the sprints.”
Peron has steadily been finding his racing legs after injury delayed his start to the season.
“Turkey is always a special place to race,” the Italian said. “The level of the racing has gotten harder each year but I’ve had some good results there. I’ve been getting back into the rhythm of racing recently, and a big stage race like this is a good opportunity to go again day after day.”
“We’ve got a strong team here with Matyas who has been going really well, so I’m looking forward to sharing some experience with him. I know the boys are up for this one and ready to keep inspiring so let’s see how we go.”
