Top 20 for Henttala on final stage at Tour of Estonia
28 May 2022
Joonas Henttala (FIN)
“Today was a hard and hectic city circuit in Tartu, with rain and cobble stones to make it more challenging. The pace was high all day with non-stop attacks. With Matyas (Kopecky) and Declan (Irvine) we worked hard and did well in keeping our positions in the front.“
“I had good sensations and found myself in the first group in the final lap. I spent a lot of energy closing gaps all day and simply missed that extra energy for the final sprint. But I’m happy with how i felt and how the whole team was riding – we are getting there, we are getting stronger and everyone did 100% for the team.“

“It was another wet one today, and that made the Tartu circuits even more technical. 16 laps of 10km and the attacks kept coming on each lap, it was relentless even after the breakaway went. Once the initial break was caught, of course the attacks started to spring again and the last 50km were full gas just to hang in there.”
“The boys did a good job and worked hard to try to stay close. In the end it was a late two man attack that stayed away just ahead of the bunch and Joonas (Henttala) did well to hang in there for a top 20. Despite the inclement weather, we’ve had a good couple of days racing here in Estonia continuing to share our message to Drive Change in Diabetes. And from a performance perspective it’s positive for the guys who are just getting back to racing to have some intense race rhythm in their legs.”
