Tour of Istanbul Starts with a Challenging Stage 1 for TNN Development Team

The Tour of Istanbul started with a heavy rain, which made the first stage even more challenging. The stage was 177 kilometers long with 2,136 meters of climbing.

Development Team Head Coach Sergey Lagutin:

“Today was the longest and hardest stage of the race, not because of big climbs, but because of the constant up-and-down terrain, with some hills as steep as 12-15%. The weather conditions were also very challenging, with heavy rain throughout the stage.”

“Doriand and Antonio did a great job of positioning themselves in the front of the bunch early on. However, after 80 kilometers, the group split, and they found themselves in the second group. Despite this setback, they continued to ride hard and were able to finish the stage strong.”
